Don’t panic, everything is organic. I really like healthy food, so that is why I love going to local markets. Ibiza has a lot of them and I am going to tell you all about my favorites!
Frutaria La Choza - Santa Getrudes
My all-time favorite is “Fruteria La Choza”, located in Santa Gertrudes. It is an indoor market next to the road. They have everything you can wish for: a large selection of fruits and vegetables, but also products like milk, cheese, and snacks. Everything is organic!
Mercat Vell - Ibiza city
This little cute market was built in the 19th century. It is located in the heart of Ibiza City next to the entrance of Dalt Villa, which is very close to our Taar Willoughby store! This little market is still going strong, offering traditional fruits and vegetables stands, but also stands where you can buy beautiful flowers, meat, all kinds of cheese, beautiful wines, different kinds of snacks—like the legendary tuna bocatas (Spanish sandwiches)—and other organic products. The market is surrounded by restaurants with vibrant terraces, bars, and fashion stores. Definitely worth visiting. Good to know: the market is only open in the summer season.
Mercat Nou – Ibiza City
This indoor market is located just a bit outside the city center, but definitely worth visiting! They offer a large selection of fresh fish, meat, fruits, and vegetables. It is very local and there are not a lot of tourists. But if you love fresh food, tasting local dishes, and discovering new flavors, this market is a must-visit for you. After your shopping session, you can get a coffee or a beer at the terrace of Cafe Mercat: a cozy local bar on the corner of the market hall. This market is open all year round!
